Clock toweThe official name of “Sapporo Clock Tower” is “Former Sapporo Agricultural School Performance Hall”. It was built in 1891 based on the concept of Dr. Clark, the first vice-principal, as a facility of Sapporo Agricultural College, the predecessor of Hokkaido University. This building, which has been active as an office of an educational organization, a military facility, and a municipal library in Showa, was designated as a national important cultural property in June 1970. After several restoration works, it is now loved as a famous spot representing Sapporo City and as a clock tower that tells the time to the citizens.

Sapporo Stellar Place

Sapporo Stellar Place is one of the shopping centers built adjacent to Sapporo Station. With about 200 restaurants, cafes and apparel shops, it is located as one of the largest shopping centers in Hokkaido. It is directly connected to Sapporo Station and has excellent access, and it can be said to be a “center spot of the city” because not only tourists but also locals visit it on a daily basis.

Since it is adjacent to other shopping centers such as “Apia”, “Paseo” and “Esta”, it is also attractive to be able to visit multiple facilities at once. All four shopping centers are collectively called “JR Tower Square” and are all connected around Sapporo Station.
