Refers to 6 prefectures: Aomori prefecture, Iwate prefecture, Miyagi prefecture, Akita prefecture, Yamagata prefecture, and Fukushima prefecture. These six prefectures occupy about 30% of the area of Honshu. The Tohoku region is located in eastern Japan, but in terms of meteorology and historical geography, it is considered to be northern Japan along with Hokkaido.
